The Challenge of Maintaining Excitement in Direct Selling

Introduction:

Staying excited about your direct selling business can take time, especially after years in the industry. Look at Alex's story and learn how to keep that spark alive.

Alex's Story:

Alex had been in direct selling for over five years. At first, everything was new and exciting. He loved the business opportunity and the products, enjoyed meeting new people, and was thrilled about growing his business. In the early days, he was energetic, stayed up late planning, and got excited about every new sale.

But lately, things have felt different. Alex isn't as excited as before. He gets bored doing the same things over and over. Showing the business plans and the products, going to meetings, and talking about the business isn't fun anymore.

Worse, he started noticing problems in the company. People weren't getting along, there was unnecessary office politics, and there was lots of negativity. This made Alex feel bad and made it harder for him to work well.

One day, Alex realized he wasn't trying very hard while getting ready to talk to people about his business opportunity and products needed to try harder. He could tell he didn't look or sound excited. He wasn't recruiting new team members into his team and selling as much as before, and his team could see he wasn't as energetic. Alex knew he needed to do something different.

Alex thought about his journey and his first WHY. He remembered how excited he was with his first sale, how proud he felt when he built his first team, and how thrilled he was when he got his first big bonus. He wondered, "How can I feel that way again? How can I get excited about my business once more?"

He decided to take action:

* He went to the next company conference, which he had been skipping lately. There, he remembered why he started this business. He heard great stories from successful people and learned new ways to work.

* Alex started spending more time with positive people on his team. Their good energy rubbed off on him, and he felt more optimistic. He also decided to avoid spending time with negative people, losers, and those who aren't where he aims to be.

* He set new, big goals for himself. He made a board with pictures of what he wanted to achieve, like supporting his teams' growth in a new area and doubling his team size in six months.

* To fight negative thoughts, Alex started writing down 5 gratitude statements. 2 personal things he is grateful for and three good things about his business every morning. This helped him see more opportunities and fewer problems.

* He also started taking better care of himself. He reduced his bad eating and drinking habits, exercised more, did some quiet thinking to reduce stress, and made sure he had time for family and hobbies.

After a few weeks, Alex felt excited about work again. His team saw the change, and his sales got better. He was happy to share new product info and business plans with others.
