Give First to Succeed Faster

Updated: Jul 18

In today's selfish world, putting others before yourself might seem unwise. But the story

"The Millionaire Delivery Boy" shows that a "give first" mindset leads to more success and happiness.

Maybe you feel frustrated, like the character Andre did at first. You've been working very hard towards your goals, but you aren't getting the results you want. If so, it's time to try a different way - one that might seem strange but is very powerful.

"Your true value depends on giving more than you receive in money."

This idea shows the difference between "money chasers" and "value providers." Money chasers only try to get money and chances for themselves. Value providers focus on creating big value for others first. Then money naturally follows.

Exceptional:

In direct selling, don't just talk about the money someone can make. Explain how joining your team helps them grow as a person, gives them a supportive community, and lets them help others. Share examples of team members who made money and also gained skills, friends, and purpose through the business.

Repetition:

To build trust with prospects, customers and team members, you must consistently provide great value over time. Once is not enough.

In direct selling, always give helpful training, resources, and support to your team. Host regular team calls, offer individual coaching, and share educational materials often. By investing in your team's success, you become a trusted leader. This can lead to better member retention and a motivated, productive team.

Remember, true value means always giving amazing experiences and benefits that improve people's lives. This includes both your products/services and the experience of working with you and your business.

Active Listening - Listen carefully to fully understand people's needs, both said and unsaid. Most of us prefer talking over listening. Not listening shows selfishness, and people don't like someone who interrupts and doesn't listen.

Compassion - Notice and respond to people's feelings and situations with care. In direct selling, genuinely care about a prospect's needs and wants. Ask questions to learn their preferences and challenges.

Listen to their answers and show understanding. Then customize your product or opportunity presentation to address their concerns and show the benefits for them. Follow up afterwards and give ongoing support to build trust and increase the chance of a sale.

Recognition - Always show thanks and give credit for people's work and help. For example, publicly reward and recognize team members for great work during a team event. This makes the group feel appreciated and motivated.

Using these ideas greatly increases the overall value you provide. The relationship and full experience you give become the main reasons people want to work with you, more than just the products or pay.

The benefits of being a value-creator are huge:

- Builds an excellent reputation and very loyal prospects and customers

- Creates a positive cycle of benefits for everyone

- Makes your life more meaningful, satisfying, and joyful

- Shows a commitment to ethically serving others over self-interest

- Focuses your energy on creating real value instead of only chasing money

However, there are also potential drawbacks to consider:

- May require more time and effort upfront without immediate payoff

- Could attract people who try to take advantage of your generosity

- Might be challenging to balance giving value with ensuring your own needs are met

- Can be emotionally draining if you over-extend yourself in serving others

- Some people may not appreciate or reciprocate the value you provide

Certainly, fully changing to this mindset is hard. You must always put value-creating practices ahead of personal gain. The benefits may not come right away. And some people might try to take advantage of your generosity.

But those who fully commit to the value-creator way find it extremely worthwhile. You'll finally achieve the success you've worked so hard for while keeping your integrity.

So if you feel stuck or unhappy with your current results, decide to become a "value-creator" today. Make delivering huge value your top priority in everything. Improve people's lives, and you'll see your own life and business reach new levels of success.
